Note* This may be the same person who was listed in the 1870 census index for Iowa obtained from www.genealogylibrary.com on 31 Oct 1999. I have tentatively listed the census record for him althouth it says A.C. Dakan in the census listing. Do not know at this point (Sep 2003) if this is correct or not.
Two people show up in the 1880 census for Elk Falls, Elk County, Kansas (Annie Dakan and Orey Dakan) who may belong to this person. Orey's father is listed as comming from Missouri and the wife we have for George is Annie. It could be he was away while they stayed with the Jay Stuart family in Kansas.10
